Rokaya

Originally from Nepal, Rokaya brings three years of barbering experience and a genuine passion for the craft to Shepherds Barbershop in Birmingham. Before joining the Shepherds team at Piccadilly Arcade, Rokaya ran his own barbershop in Nepal – The Hair Art – giving him a strong foundation in working with all hair types and a deep understanding of what clients want from their cut.

At Shepherds Barbershop, Rokaya specialises in fades of all kinds – burst fades, taper fades, and skin fades across low, mid, and high variations – as well as modern mullets and longer length cuts. If it involves precision and technique, it’s where he thrives.

Outside the chair, Rokaya is a musician at heart. He plays guitar, loves to sing, and writes his own songs in Nepali — a creative outlet that sits naturally alongside his work as a barber. When he’s not making music, you’ll find him travelling and exploring new places.

His all-time favourite meal is dal bhat; a traditional Nepali dish of rice, lentil curry, and chicken that he’d eat every day if he could.
