I started my career in 2012 as a hairdressing and cutting specialist in Nuneaton, working my way up from the bottom and learning a wide range of cutting techniques across different hair types. The best part of the job has always been the people — the ability to be social and creative in equal measure.
From there, I took my trade abroad. From California to India to Sydney, travelling couldn’t keep me away from hair. During my time in Australia I worked at Toni & Guy in downtown Sydney and later at their Amsterdam store — two experiences that gave me an unmatched breadth of knowledge, working with clients from every background and walk of life.
I also worked briefly as a dive master in Thailand, so if any of you fancy a dive in the Floozie in the Jacuzzi, let me know.
Today I lead the team at Shepherds Studio in Burlington Building in Birmingham. Alongside David, I focus on the daily development of our barbers, ensuring that every client who sits in our chairs receives the best barbering experience in Birmingham. I believe in empowering the next generation of barbers with the training and tools they need to build a long and successful career, at Shepherds and beyond.
