Hey everyone, I'm Charlie, a Trainee Barber.

Why barbering?
It all started back in the first lockdown, my family approached me for a haircut and I gave it my best shot, I quickly got obsessed with how bad it was and how I could get better. As a naturally creative person I dove into the hairdressing world watching videos and tutorials to the point where I could create any hairstyle I wanted with the basics I had learnt. Cutting hair gave me a chance to make connections with my friends on a deeper level and drive my creativity into a passion, barbering!!

The Beginning
I set up a mini shop in my home where I would invite, at first, close friends for a haircut for a bit of pocket money. Turns out I wasn’t half bad and as I progressed over the years word of mouth spread throughout school and college and I was suddenly getting asked from far and wide for haircuts. After 4 and a half years of my own business growing, I contacted Shepherds wanting to see what life in a shop was like, I loved it! So here I am, a trainee barber at the best barber shop in Birmingham!

My passions
Alongside barbering, I have always been musical. I have played the drums and guitar for several years, and I am in a band with 3 of my best friends. We make music and gig around Birmingham and are working towards an EP release! I love rock, metal, indie and dance music. Along with music, I love golf, I find the challenge and the relaxation of the sport balancing.
